About ODF

The Other Dance Festival was founded in 2002 and is produced by The Chicago Moving Company.

Held every fall for 3-weeks, this concert series presents fifteen of Chicago's finest modern dance artists and companies. The ODF exists to provide a venue and visibility for Chicago modern dance artists and their work, as well as a one-stop site where Chicago audiences can sample and sink their teeth into a cross section of Chicago modern dance artists and styles.

Major support for the festival provided by: The Chicago Park District and the Alphawood Foundation.

ODF's 10th birthday--a critical and popular success
The Other Dance Festival 10th Anniversary (Sept - Oct, 2011) was a hands-down success, featuring: four weeks of sold-out shows by 24 of "our towns best modern dancers and choreographers"; 2 skyped-in live performances by ODF alum from Berkeley, CA and Philadelphia, PA; 12 dance classes and workshops; additional ODF artists appearing virtually in the video lounge; a flash mob; a big ODF bday cake; get-togethers and rumpuses!
