Tickets: $9.99, available only at the door-cash or check only. Application Details:
* 10-12 choreographers will be chosen to perform their work in the second year of this summer festival
* Performances will be at the Hamlin Park Theater: Thurs/Fri, July 24 and 25, 2014. 7:30 pm both evenings
* Each piece will be performed on only one of these nights (i.e. you will perform on either Thurs or Fri, not both)
* Professional choreographers (CMC Artists in Residence) will curate the festival: Rachel Bunting, Atalee Judy, Ayako Kato
* 2 D49 choreographers will be selected for an additional performance opportunity: to create and present a new work in CMC's 2015 Dance Shelter concert (dates tba, but prob late winter/early spring 2015). These choreographers will be chosen by the curators and the audience.
* Shorter works are preferred (12 min and under)
* Focus is on original, innovative work--that has not been widely produced (performed and seen). How to Apply: APPLICATION DUE BY 5/09/14 . DECISIONS MADE B Y 5/30/14. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL SHORTLY AFTER 5/30, EITHER WAY. * You must be available all possible performance nights: July 24, 25, 2014. And for possibly performance in Dance Shelter--late winter or early spring 2015.
* This is for artists living and working in Chicagoland.
* D49 focuses on developing or underproduced artists.
* If you applied last year, you can apply again. If you were presented last year you may apply again with a new work, although artists who have not appeared before in D49 will be a priority.
* Application is in attached Word Document.
* Fill out the (short!) application form, send with current resume and photo of you/your work if available (jpeg preferred and send photo credit), and the all-important link to a sample of your work (details on the application form). Send completed application by midnight 5/9/2014 to meet the deadline. Please put D49 application in the subject line.
