Workshops
"Stepping Beyond, finding the flow" with Avital FurlagerDance Improvisation Workshop to explore how the innerlandscape can provide ground for performance material
August 17/18, Weds/Thurs, 6-8 pm
$20 one evening; $35 two evenings; space limited--registration first come, first served.
Participants are invited into a labroratory setting to research the place of moving beyond familiarity of habit-self, in order to touch the place of a deeper, inner self. And then, allowing this exploration to be the ground for gathering material for performance. We will touch on different pathways into this place, including Authentic Movement, spatial dynamics, and awareness practices--in placing attention on different aspects of oneself, the environment, and the choices existing between the two.
If you can't make both nights, come for just one evening to share in this playground of creativity! Avital Furlager, MA, RDMT, studied improvisation and performance art at Naropa University with Barbara Dilley and other faculty. She is also a dance/movement therapist and yoga teacher. She has been practicing both Authentic Movement and Contemplative Dance for a decade. Avital has continued to perform and explore the art of improvisation in Chicago and Israel.
