Rachel Bunting Rachel Bunting is a 2001 graduate of Columbia College, Chicago. There she
majored in dance while exploring various artistic mediums including drawing,
painting, photography and music. During her college career, Rachel
discovered an intense drive to create movement and dances centered around
idea, motive and image. Since then, she has become fascinated by the
curious absurdities embedded in the abstract world of the body. Rachel
began her professional career dancing with The Chicago Moving Company under
the training of Nana Shineflug. She is still affiliated with CMC through
their teaching and outreach programs, and has been an Artist-In-Residence of
the company space at Hamlin Park for the past two years. Rachel has danced
for many independent choreographers and various companies. Most recently,
she performed with Lucky Plush Productions and The Seldoms. The Illinois
Arts Council has granted Rachel's choreography with two consecutive finalist
awards, and her next piece "Cleopatra in Traffic" will be presented by The
Other Dance Festival in September. Rachel plans to expand this work for an
evening length show in March of 2007. She will be performing her duet
"Crush" in NYC in August, presented by Queen of Hearts Productions.
