Assembly Programs

The Chicago Moving Company’s arts-education programs have received numerous awards and have been presented throughout Illinois and the nation over the last thirty years. Let CMC bring the joy of dance to your school through an in-school performance.
- “Building a Dance” a lively program featuring vivid excerpts of acclaimed CMC dances (such as “Love Songs” and “Paysage”) and demonstrating how choreographers use different tools to build dances.
- Workshop can accompany the performance program.
PERFORMANCE AVAILABLE:
- Choreographer: The person who invents the steps and patterns of a dance to be presented to an audience.
- Choreography: The steps and patterns that make a dance.
- Improvisation: To create movement, steps, and a performance spontaneously.
- Theme and Variation: To create a movement pattern or sequence, then repeat and alter that pattern and sequence.
TERMINOLOGY:
- 30’ x 30’ clean, even surface
- Small table or desk
- Changing area
- Electrical outlet, extension cord, microphone
- 12 children from the grades who will be attending the performance to participate in the show
- Gym mats or cafeteria tables to use as wings if the performance is not on a stage

We Serve:
